GULU Project

Since 1987 the Lords Resistance Army (LRA) has waged a ruthless campaign of terror against the people of Northern Uganda. Led by their mysterious and elusive leader Joseph Kony, the LRA have violently sought to replace the government with one that is base upon the Biblical Ten Commandments.
Their tactics have been particularly brutal and in order to booster their ranks, the LRA have abducted children form the communities in Northern Uganda.

For 20 years the LRA have been on a spiritual crusade of murder, mutilation, abduction and destruction of whole communities. Unimaginable atrocities have been inflicted upon an entire generation of innocent children.

The affect of this war has lead to whole communities breaking down. Because of fear, people have been forced to move closer to Gulu town and live in congested and squalid ‘Internally Displaced People Camps’. Here there is lack of running water, little food, atrocious medical facilities, poor education and a dire sense of hopelessness.
